Lost And Found – Jesus Style

I have a quick story to share with you today. Today I flew out to Orlando with my roommate – while we live in New York, his closest friends and family in Florida and this annual trip is the highlight of his year. Where do I come in? As a helper – due to his disability, he needs assistance with daily tasks. While getting things ready 2 days ago, I noticed that there was a hole in my purse, and something very important missing  – my ID! If you’ve ever tried to board a plane without ID, it is not a pretty scene. In a panic, I had my mother overnight my birth certificate, got my social security card out, and a few other documents, hoping that it’d help my cause and I’d still be allowed on the plane.

I also prayed. I prayed Jesus would work it out, I prayed for my ID to turn up, I prayed and got all my friends to pray with me. It’s such a small thing, and yet so important to me.

It seemed my prayers were going unanswered. I went to the DMV in NY to get a new ID, and was denied because I didn’t have the right proofs of identity (my CBS employment ID was for temporary employment so it wasn’t an official plastic card, and my pay stub with my address didn’t have a social security number on it). Unsuccessful, I kept trying to convince myself not to worry, to give it to God and let Him deal with it.

I searched the house again, especially my bedroom. I got everything packed, ready, cleaned…..and went to bed last night with no ID.

Did I mention I went to bed with no ID?? Because when I woke up, the ID was sitting right in the middle of my dresser.

Did I miss it the first 100 times I looked? You could say that, but I know that it wasn’t just a mistake. It was my prayer. I know the ID wasn’t there before. God helped it turn up, and he delivered it just in time!!!!

Thanks Jesus!

Have you had any little miracles this week? Write to me at being.rebekah.a@gmail.com and tell me about it!

God bless!!
