“Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Today I went to the nursing home with my roommate to visit his mother. We had a great visit and a great commute home (thanks Jesus!). Then we got home and we were scrambling to get dinner ready and sort mail, and just getting ready for his work week to start (yes I know it’s Tuesday. My roommate’s work week is Wed-Sun).
At one point I looked at our previously-clean dining room table, which was now strewn with various piles of mail and other items we’d used during the ‘weekend’. I said something to the effect of “we always end up making such a mess for two days of hardly being home…”. And all at once I had a thought, and added “but at least we’re blessed with a dining room table big enough to spread our stuff on!”
And it’s true. So often, things in life that we stress about, are blessings. Because really, if you’re stressing, you have something in your life that’s important enough to stress about. Cleaning your home? You have a home! Busy work schedule? You have a job!
It’s such a simple concept, and one we hear often. But I love those in-the-moment reminders that God gives us, so I just had to share it with you all. Praise Jesus, and God bless!!
