“And behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” ~Matthew 28:20
These are the words Jesus spoke when He rose from the dead. His last words to us were He is always with us. Yes that’s encouraging when we’re off preaching to some who may be lost. But when you think about it, it’s encouraging ALL the time.
Jesus is here. Now. With us. Right now!! How often do we think “I need to pray about that?” and dismiss an issue for the time being because we don’t have time right then? When really, Jesus was there during that moment. He’s here now. We don’t need to go to our prayer closets to speak to Him. We don’t need to make an appointment. He’s already here. He never leaves our sides! We’re the ones who focus on other things and come back to Him. He is always there. He’s with me when I pray, and He’s with me when I go about my daily life.
Don’t get me wrong. I am NOT saying to stop praying. Keep praying!!!!! But….how cool is it that we have a God who loves us so much that He’s with us for every second of our lives? How many times have we been given blessings we never even asked for or been protected from a danger we never even knew about, just because God was with us and saw the need before we were ever aware of it? He loves us enough to take care of us without our even knowing it! And if we don’t know about it, we can’t exactly give Him credit for each instance….but just think how many there must have been. And how strong and pure that love is for Him to not need the credit. He loves us enough to be there whether we asked Him or not.
He was with me when I prayed to stay righteous in Miami and to be used, and He was with me today when I went shopping for a grill brush. He’s with me as I type, and He’ll be with me as I sleep, and He’ll be with me during every step I take tomorrow. He loves me enough to be by my side. And that’s exactly how much He loves you too!
I don’t have a big revelation here. This isn’t going anywhere especially deep. I’m just rejoicing today that in everything and every moment, Jesus is with me. Which means I’m with Him! What an awesome God we serve!
God bless!
