The Balm of Gilead

Tonight’s sermon was on Jeremiah where he asks if there is no balm in Gilead.  It was interesting because the minister went on to talk about things like the five lies Americans are fed such as evolution is a fact. Now I’m not here to debate if it is real and I take the same stance the minister went on to say which is: whatever part of the theory may be true, it is because God made it so, but it still does not mean it is a fact since scientists are still looking for the “missing link.”

Essentially he was saying that we lull ourselves into a place where we are empty and sorrowful and either loose sight of the fact we have a “balm” or are too set in our ways to use it because that would mean change.

He ended the sermon with an impassioned cry to rededicate our lives to Christ. I did once again and as I set out on this last week of studying before I take my boards, I know the only way I will do well is if Jesus guides my studying, crafts the test for me, and brings to remembrance the things I learned on test day.

So i’m embarking on a week of praying three times a day again while Daniel fasting- feel free to join me if you wish! 🙂

Jesus,
I dedicate my life to You once again. You’ve led me down this path all my life so whether I pass or fail is in Your hands. I love You Jesus with all my heart.

  1. I stand with you in praying God would open your mind so that you may recall all that you have studied! I join you too in rededicating my life to Jesus!
