Passion

“true Christians consider themselves not as satisfying some rigorous creditor, but as discharging a debt of gratitude”
― William WilberforceReal Christianity

I’m watching Amazing Grace right now (a movie about the life of William Wilberforce) and I can’t help but wonder- will my passions in life change things for the better, or fulfill my own lusts? He lived with a passion for freeing the slaves in Great Britain.  So much of who he was and what he did was wrapped up in abolishing the slave trade in his nation.  He saw the truth that it was wrong and inhumane. God created all men equal.

Will my life have such an impact? Will my life also make a difference that lasts through the ages? I don’t want a movie in my name.  I don’t want all to sing my praises.  I just hope to be a vessel used by God to make an impact- even one that only He sees.  We don’t always have to be the one who saves 10,000 or 10s of thousands.  We could be the one who saves the one who saves the person who saved those thousands. God can see the connections.  God knows where we need to be and when. Our existence may not be public, it may not be loud, but even in quietness we can have a huge impact- if we allow Him to lead.

Will I have a partner that will also be as passionate about going about His Will?  I hope so.  I pray so.  But until it actually happens, I will just continue on- seeking Him and His will.  Passionately pursuing Him with all my heart.

Passion for Christ. Join me!
