One of my attendings has declared from day one that I have a “black cloud.” We in medicine will say someone has that when bad things tend to always happen when they’re on. In my short time here, EVERY C-section has been out of the ordinary. Now granted, most c-sections should be out of the ordinary, but I have yet to scrub into one for your “normal” reasons. From overdoses to overly large ovaries, I have had some weird things come in while I was on duty.
I have found though that nothing bad ever ends up happening to the patients. They have weird diagnosis, things very out of the ordinary, but no one dies and every one leaves the floor OK. And so, I have convinced this attending that I have a “pink cloud” since I refuse the mantle of black cloud. He agrees though that although weird things come in, no horrible final outcome happens. Everything that comes in bad ends up with the best possible outcome.
It reminds me of how He can make all things good. Our lives can be such horrible messes. We can seem beyond repair. Yet this Jesus, He died for our sins and He can make all things new. We are new creatures in Christ and He mitigates our problems. Do we completely avoid our consequences? No. But He makes them so that they are for our growth and development, not for horrible, crushing punishment that breaks us. He makes our world pink instead of black.
Thank You Jesus for making all things pink in my world 🙂

He allows you to get the out of ordinary cases cuz His Son is on your side 🙂
Blessings of more Revelation from God. i and others i know had prophecied over us a black cloud. i have come to know this is satan trying to get us to think we are dark? Only to find out that it is the darkness that makes His Light Shine Brightest. Keep Proclaiming His Goodness. You are pink and purple. so hope to meet you one day when i visit my favorite city N.Y.
It seems that the Lord is bringing in the “weird” so He can do the “supernatural.” I’ll bet that if these cases were handled by someone who wasn’t Spirit-filled and surrendered to the Lord, the outcomes would be far worse.
Pink – in dance worship – is the color of healing, in case you didn’t know. 😉 Interesting that you just “happened” to select that color!

It’s usually after the fact that I appreciate it, but I’ve found that God helps me grow in very uncomfortable ways. I can see that in the future all of these “weird” circumstances will come in handy for you. Being exposed to issues rarely seen will give you experience others in the room don’t have.
Pink – red mixed with white. Reminds me of ‘Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.’ Isaiah 1:18 Pink – the cleansing process which comprises both trials and blessings.
Amen!!!! Crazy things have continued even with my last shift, but God is still watching over all my patients and I am so grateful for that! 🙂
What a great post! Your strong faith is an example!
thank you 🙂 God has been SO good to my patients 🙂
