I had a patient who came in with a miscarriage today. There was nothing to do. My attending had already spoken to them so the only thing left for me was to help organize the details of helping deliver the angel who left too soon. I cannot help but want to reach out to anyone who is mourning in this season where so many others are celebrating.
You are not alone. You may feel broken now, but please let the Savior wrap His loving arms around You in comfort. Know that Jesus is the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). He will hold you in His arms of love if you will let Him.
Lord,
Fill those who need Your comfort with Your love as they read these words. May they feel Your arms wrapping them up and letting them know that You will be there for them. We may not always fully understand why things happen in this world, but You have always promised to be with us in our hard times. That nothing can separate us from Your love (Romans 8:31-39). That You give beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness (Isaiah 61:3). Be their comfort and peace in this time.
